Is SeaTac Soccer Club the right club for where I live?
Soccer allows players to choose their club, regardless of where they live, so your choice of club is open. Most people start in their local area and then pick teams based on where practices are or
where games are played. Our basic area is from the north edge of Des Moines to the south edge of South Park and east of the I-509 freeway. The schools covered are Madronna, Bow Lake, Seattle
Christian, Valley View, McMicken, Hilltop, Cedarhurst, Southern Heights and Beverly Park Elementary Schools, Chinook Middle School and Tyee High School, but many players come from other schools in
the area.
How do I volunteer?
We are always happy to get volunteers. If you want to volunteer to coach or to do something at the club
meetings contact us through the e-mail or voice mail or come to one of our monthly meetings each month, 7:00 at the North SeaTac Community Center, S. 138th and 24th Ave S.). If you want to help out
on the team, please contact your coach.
What ages are included?
Our program covers teams from Mini's (5 and 6 years old) through High School. A players official age is what their age will
be on July 31st . For example, a boy who will turn 5 on July 31st (or before) is considered to be 5. One who turns 5 on August 1st is considered to be 4.
When is signup and who needs to go?
New this year, we are encouraging all new and returning players to register on-line. There will also be a major signup at a
time and location to be announced.
Can friends sign up together?
We will make every effort to place friends together on a team as long as they are of proper ages for that team. Please
identify that request at signup or in an email. Often, new players request a specific team because they have a friend on that team. Coaches are able to add players of their choosing, so if you want
that, talk to the coach ahead of time.
How are the teams arranged?
Teams are arranged around similar age players. There are boys teams and girls teams. They are designated by age as "Under"
some age. For example "Under 10" (U10) can only accept players that are 9 or younger on July 31st. If they are good enough, younger players may play on an older team but an older player may never
play on a younger team. Each year new teams are formed at the younger ages. Older teams stay together and add/drop a couple of players each year.

What does my fee cover?
Registration fees pay for field equipment, including goal nets, balls and cones, player insurance, referees, medical supplies, administration costs, and our registration fees to Washington State
Youth Soccer and District 3. We also provide District teams with jerseys, shorts and socks for each player assigned to a team. For all other teams, the club will provide a T-shirt and
shorts.
When do practices start and where are they?
Practices start over the summer with the older teams starting in late July or early August. Younger teams usually start in
late August and mini's teams usually start in early September. Practices may be at any location picked by the coach but our main sites are Valley Ridge Fields, Sunset fields (136th and Des Moines
Way S) and at Cedarhurst Elementary. Younger teams usually practice earlier in the evening, with the older teams taking the later times. Team practice nights are decided by the coach, but are
usually Mondays and Wednesdays or Tuesdays and Thursdays.
What equipment do I need to provide?
All players must wear shin guards, socks and soccer cleats. Baseball cleats can be used to play soccer provided that the
cleat on the toe of the shoe has been completely removed.
When and where are games?
Younger players play games on Saturdays and older players play games on Sundays. Mini's games run from late September until
Thanksgiving. All games are at Valley Ridge or Cedarhurst. Middle ages start a week earlier but end at the same time. They play home games at Valley Ridge and play away games at fields in the
Highline area (West Seattle, White Center, SeaTac, Burien or Des Moines). Older teams (U11 and above) may travel anywhere in South King County and Pierce County. The older season may continue
through mid December.
Can earrings be worn if they are taped up?
No! Earrings can be dangerous to the player wearing them. Although, you will see professional soccer players wearing
earrings and other jewelry, it is not allowed for any reason in youth soccer. Referees will not allow earrings to be worn. If the earrings are unable to be removed, the referee may not allow the
player to play during the game. The referee is responsible for the safety of all the players. Plan on piercing ears after soccer season is over.
